Wild white hair danced around his head as he walked down the street in Princeton, New Jersey. Doctor Albert Einstein was one of the world's greatest geniuses. It was easy to recognise him due to his unkempt appearance. He contributed greatly to the field of physics this genius changed the way we look at the world and universe forever.
Albert Einstein was born in 1879 in ALM, Germany to a Jewish family. According to historians, it took Einstein a long time to begin talking. Some people say he didn't speak until he was four years old. As a child, one of Einstein's favourite activities was building card castles with his little sister. Another important moment in childhood was when he saw a compass for the first time. He was fascinated by the needle moving due to invisible forces.
After starting school, Einstein began to love math even more. He started teaching himself subjects like geometry. At that point, Einstein also became interested in electricity and how it worked. Unfortunately, Einstein wasn't always recognised by teachers as the bright student that he was. He didn't like school very much. At the age of 15, Einstein followed his parents to Milan. They had expected him to finish boarding school in Germany.
The next few years were rough for Einstein. He attended school to become a math and physics teacher. He then looked for his first job. Unable to find a job in his field, he ended up working in a Patent Office. Here he wrote scientific papers in his free time. As a result of his work, he finally earned his doctorate degree in 1905. At that point, Einstein had married Mileva Maric with whom he had two children.
In 1905 Einstein came up with his famous formula E=MC2. This formula explains the amount of energy produced when matter is changed to energy. This formula is one of Einstein's greatest achievements. It even led to the creation of nuclear bombs and nuclear energy.
Having made significant contributions to the scientific community, Einstein was finally allowed to work as a professor and physicist. In 1915, he published his theory of relativity. The theory helps explain gravity. It shows how gravity works in our solar system and the universe in general.
At that point in history, World War One began. This disrupted his work in Berlin, where he was working at the time. Despite the war, he went on to complete important research in the early 1920s. He saw a solar eclipse in 1919. The event helped confirm his theory of relativity. Einstein became famous around the world. It was also then that he married his second wife, Elsa Lowenthal.
Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. The prize was awarded for his work on the photoelectric effect, which he had completed back in 1905. Then, he determined that light is made up of particles called photons. These photons flow in a wave.
Later, Einstein was in danger due to the Nazi rise in Germany. So he moved to the United States. There he was a researcher at Princeton University in New Jersey until his death in 1955.
